Refrigeration Expansion valve

An expansion valve in a refrigeration system acts as a pressure regulator and a traffic cop for the refrigerant, controlling its flow from the high-pressure condensing side to the low-pressure evaporator. It drops the pressure of the liquid refrigerant, causing it to become very cold and change state from a liquid to a low-pressure vapor, which then absorbs heat in the evaporator to create the cooling effect.
